Who we are

The ‘It’s not okay’ website and campaign has been put together by Project Phoenix, a unique collaboration of public and third sector partners throughout Greater Manchester. We aspire to be national leaders in the approach we’re taking to protect young people and prosecute offenders.

Our aims are to:

  • Raise awareness of child sexual exploitation
  • Help people recognise the signs
  • Encourage people to report it
  • Provide support to victims and those most at risk

Child sexual exploitation is a priority for all local safeguarding children boards in Greater Manchester and the work being done by Project Phoenix is a key priority for Greater Manchester at the most senior level.

Under Phoenix, there are now teams in place dealing with child sexual exploitation in each of the ten districts of Greater Manchester. Each team offers a joined-up, multi-agency response to dealing with the problem. Find out how to contact a local team.
